Full Shingle Tear-Off and Architectural Upgrade
Project Overview
Replacement of an aging 3-tab shingle roof on a four-bedroom ranch. Original roof was approaching twenty-two years and showed widespread granular loss, curled edges, and exposed fiberglass mat along the south slope.
Analysis
Shingles were well past their serviceable life. Decking was stable, with only two sheets requiring replacement near the ridge where old nail pops had pulled through. Existing attic ventilation was insufficient for the square footage.
Process
Dumpster placement and property protection; tear-off day; deck inspection and sheet replacement; dry-in day; drip edge and starter install; field shingles; ridge cap and ridge vent closeout; full cleanup and magnet sweep.
Outcome
Roof is now on a lifetime-rated architectural shingle system with proper intake and exhaust ventilation. Homeowner reported noticeably cooler upstairs bedrooms through the first warm weekend.
